Tyres - some suggestions pls
23 Mar 2007 04:28
Gents/Ladies (where applicable)
Some advice please, the Z will be back on the road in about three weeks all going well and will need a new set of tyres before I get too excited with the petrol handle, so what do I fit ?? currently I am running a 140/80 x 18 on a 3.5" rim and a 110/90 x 18 on a 2.15" rim. What are some of your suggestions, most of my riding is through the twisties as quick as I can legally get away with.
Tyres have changed somewhat and you can't get Phantom Silver Dots anymore. What is the general opinion of what brand to put on ?(and of course what type)
Cheers,
Tony
BTW Autumn is nearly here and it was 28C today !!

I'm runing a set of Dunlop GT501's (in fact my second set) on my 650 and really like them.
Sticky enough for the twisties, yet still last a good while - about 10K miles on a rear, providing I don't do any burn-outs that is.

Ditto here I run Dunlop GT501's on my KZ650. 130/80x18 rear and 100/90x19 in front.
I love the them in twisties and they do seem to last.

Mate, I did get a set of Venoms but got them today and got your suggestion tonight when I went onto the forum.
Mine's not quite as mean and lean as yours but I will try and live up to the mean bit, lol.
Cheers
