Excellent job. To really appreciate your after photos, let's go back to a "before" shot...

After and before are quite the contrast.

And, yes, it really came back. I just hope he comes back after hearing the total bill! :pinch:

It's finally done!

There was a stumble off idle that made it almost useless. Complete details in this 2500 RPM stumble thread .

It runs quite well, but it could benefit from 17.5 pilot jets, I believe.

I learned a lot and I'm happy it's complete.

Until next time. :pinch:

Well, I think I can close this one out. Two weeks ago I rode it to the owner's home and he's been riding it. It still has a stumble between 2500 and 3000 RPM which I think is due to the stock idle jets. Sometime we'll have to bump them up one size and see if that improves it.

Funny story about that bike. I was talking to the owner today and it seems he left it out at his brother's farm a week ago. Over last weekend they were at a family function and the owner asked one of his nieces whether they'd been taken for a ride on it. No was the answer. So, earlier this week he was out at the farm and told his brother to ride the bike out to the end of the lane and back before he took the girls for a ride. By the time he got back to the house his daughters were waiting. They both got a ride and one of them said, "We need a bike like that!"

I love it!

Nate,

My first bike was an SR and several friends helped me get it going. Although the bike was very short lived(totaled it less than 15 minutes after I got it out of the shop) I really appreiciated the help from friends and family(my brother Melvis whos SR knowledge is 2nd to none) to get taht bike on the road. I think they did it as much to help me as it was for their love of the KZ's, and its nice to see it still happening today. I really enjoyed the read and count this as one of the many reasons I hang around here.

Well done Sir.

Thanks, Dreams.

Sorry to hear about your SR. They are sweet bikes and I got to ride the 650B on the highway the other night and it's sweet as well.

Don't give up! Get another basket case and get back in the game. :)
