Hello
I have now got the new regulator rectifier, made up a bracket and wired it in the good news is the fuse no longer blows the starter spins but doesn't turn the engine over which is annoying, I have looked at pictures of the starter clutch which I suspect is the problem any tips?
Thanks again for all your help

Does sound like a starter clutch problem, all you can do is "get in there and take a look" !

Yes thats what I thought so for now, I planned to see if I could kick it into life but the carbs leaked so I took them off what a mess, and 2 of the screws on each of the float bowls had been replaced with self tappers destroying the threads, oh the joy's of owning old motorcycles, I am hoping there is enough meat in each corner to drill them out re tap them to take a 5 mm screw instead of 4 mm, another small victory is that it gives a decent spark at the plugs so I am hopefull once I sort the carbs out fingers cross it will start
