Bolt spacing on the ZRX and KZ1000 seem to be the same. Hmmmmm.

If it helps on those carb drain screws. They had two different kinds, early 92066-1045, late 92066-1064. Seems there's an abundance of the later 1064's but early 1045's (the type on the bottom, not tapered) seems NLA. But no problem, looks to be the same as used on the Suzuki GS1100 and Yamaha XS1100..i believe. Might verify diameter and pitch. They were All Mikuni so hopes would be high.

Is the bottom picture a pilot air screw?

Kinda resembles one but No, its the bowl drain screw sans oring. Sans O-ring. Betting it's the same as used on the BS34's.

OK, it looked a lot like the (16014-012) air screw on my Z1, after looking both up I see the difference

Sorry For not returning back to this forum, I had a lot of stuff going on that took me away from working on any bikes.
That being said, the cam chain tensioner that the seller included with the '81 was not an OEM KZ1300 part. it is for a ZX1100 and I installed it this past weekend.
It seems to fit just fine, and maybe it doesn't matter, but I'm not sure if I have it oriented correctly. On the body of the tensioner, one side is smooth and the other side has a small "bump" on it that makes me think that its supposed to be some sort of directional "indicator".
The face of the plunger (where it pushes the cam chain guide) is offset (looks kind of like a foot) and I'm wondering if it needs to "point" a specific way.
Soooo, I need to find something that will show me how it should be installed.

Interesting. Partzilla sez those are nla new, but I see that a whole lot of models use the same tensioner gasket. I wonder if a ZRX tensioner would work? The seller included a new OEM cam chain tensioner, but after reading some things in the forums, I'm thinking I might install a ZX1100 tensioner instead. I'm hoping to have all the parts in hand within a week or so.

So far, I have replaced the cam chain tensioner, installed the carb drain screws, changed the oil and filter, cleaned and re-oiled the K&N air filter, installed an AGM battery and bled the brakes. The front brake feel is not so good, so I have ordered a rebuild kit that should be delivered this week..
I wish I could have started with all this earlier, so I could get some riding in, but a broken foot and a frigging kidney stone sapped all of my motivation.
Anyway, I hope to be able to take her out for a shake down next weekend.
