Re: Hello from Idaho
03 Mar 2023 08:35Yes it is! ...but, While the Z1 needs a significant amount of work, the KZ550 seems pretty complete. I have the stock shocks, but they are shot. I can't find a grab rail for it but does it really need one? This bike is only a reproduction seat cover and the front turn signals away from being complete. Falls short of being a project. That's ok, riding season is almost here so projects will have to wait for next winter.Project fever is kicking inCan lightning strike twice?
Yesterday morning a 1980 KZ550 popped up in a classified ad. This morning, 335 miles and 5 hours later, it’s in the back of my truck. Very happy!Attachment not found

Welcome from central Massachusetts. With those two bikes they'll definitely let you in! I've owned my Z1A since the late 70's, rode it for 18 years then life happened and it got put away until last year. (Some of that time was in a friend's leaky garage, so it has some issues from the storage) I retired last summer and I'm reviving (not restoring) The plan is to make a safe good running older motorcycle to ride. It's almost ready to go, so I'll be following your project with interest. Sounds like you've got a decent amount of Kaw experience, the members here can help you solve any issues you run into. And by the way, we really like pictures!
