Okay so just an update for anyone that cares. The wiring is just about done and all that's left is adding marker lights to the front, which are installed but not wired up yet. Aside from electrical:
- New throttle cable
- New clutch lever and clutch cable adjusted to proper tolerances
- New brake lever/master cylinder
- All new lights, all LED.
- New pod filters
To do still:
- The gas tank is going to get a makeover. New petcock, new paintjob, completely cleaned out with electrolysis and sealed.
- Learn how to ride a motorcycle! Haha
I'm still having the issue I was having before getting the bike moving. The new pod filters helped a ton. It's not quite as temperamental as it was before, and doesn't quite need as much throttle right off the bat to keep it moving. That said, I still have to really feather the clutch to keep it moving (slowly) or it bogs down entirely and stalls. I adjusted the idle screw and that also helped a lot, however if I screw it down enough that it doesn't quite bog down, the bike sounds like it's getting ready to pop. I don't know how, but if I need to take the carbs apart to clean them, I will. But before I start potentially screwing the bike up permanently, I'd like to see if there are any other ideas available.
