New member/ ZR550 rider
24 Jan 2018 15:09 - 27 Jan 2018 18:20
Hi guys. I'm a 46 old rider
I'm from Fontaine-les-Dijon, in Burgundy, in the lower area of north-eastern France (Switzerland is at 1h30 of driving at the east).
I registered because my zephyr 550 has much common DNA with the KZ 550.
even if my first bike in 1992 was a HD XLH 1986 4 gears/chain, and that I owned 3 other Harleys over the years, I've always loved Kaw's
my first one was a modified 1100 ZZR in 1996. It was a time of driving at illegal speeds, far from what people could imagine today in this era of population control. my current Kawa is a ZR 550, wich is nothing more than a 1983 GPZ 550 with brakes taken from a ZZR 600 and an aluminium swingarm. a pocket bike for some people, but by far one of the funniest bike I ever owned.
I do daily commute when weather allows it. I like engine mods and paint works. I think it's the right place to be if I face technical challenges.

thanks to all
I don't really understand why onedrive fails so much today. I used to simply post hundreds of pics in the past, and now it fucks up big time.
If need be, the pics will be sent to another host/site; feel free to tell the one you use like Corey
daftrusty, is it your actual firing system cover that I see as your avatar? where did you find It? thanks
I saw your 750KZ project... just impressive ! I'm not certain you're a guy that need advices when it comes to split a bike in half, mix parts, shake and start. I don't have this level of technicality, I mostly ride and just make it run
I have a link, this should work:

No luck. One drive loads up, but the rest of the page is blank. (on my phone)
Most people just upload it to kzrider. As a new member you might have to make a certain number of posts before it lets you upload.

Hi Lou,
I'm not sure if Roy tried to upload the pics. If he had, the site upper limit would have not accepted them. The limit is 2 megs.
I hope you don't mind Roy. I downloaded them using your link and resized them. These are about 1 meg each.
Welcome to KZR Roy.

thanks KZQ for doing so, cause I was growing desperate of ever being able to show a single picture.
I didn"t notice that "attachments" was meant to upload pictures. so much for so few... next time I check before.
loudhvx, the orange color is a candy and the blue one isn't. it's a basement homemade paintjob, but so far so good
the rack behind the seat was kind of mandatory to avoid being too limited in use, even if I hardly see myself riding trips above 200 miles with this ass slapper. I'm no more 20 years old, and I want avoid the physician (front and rear shocks are hardened).
KZQ, I've seen in your signature that your motorcycle universe is broader than the Z's.
10 miles from my place, there's the biggest european meeting for vintage bikes once a year in May (called "moto légendes") in Prenois.
I'll give a link to my related pictures, you can use whatever picture you want and use them in a topic as you wish.
Moto-légendes 2014
important: if the link starts a diaporama with blurred pics, click on the cross in the upper right. this will stop it and return to folder. then, when you'll click on a picture there will be enough time to download it properly.
you can grab a beer and some pop-corn...
