Hi all.
Just trying to stay in touch and ID an exhaust.
Had a stroke of luck and found an old Z in a shed. Pretty rough, birdcrap and rat crap and what ever else you would expect for nearly 12
years in a shed. It was wearing Z1 tank and bodywork when I first saw it, but it is a 78 with forks off a GPz ?.
Anyhow, it had good compression and turned over so at the price I thought why not.
Got it home and started work. First thing........get her running. Engine flush new oil, new gas, carb strip and new plugs. Started after a couple of good spins to get some fuel flowing and idles very nicely. No smoke, no noises and no leaks.
Have a buyer for the Z1 gear so it is wearing some stuff I was holding on to.
I have NO idea at all what make of exhaust it has on... I just know it sucks and I want rid of it.
If any body can ID the exhaust it would be much appreciated.
Oh yeah....... How much did I pay for the bike ?
600 of your US dollars, and I have nearly got that back selling the Z1 bits
This will be the wifes ride for the summer when she gets back from work, then I get to go nuts in the winter and really sort her out.

Thanks Leon.
I finally managed to post a couple of pics of the header on the engines forum, under Mystery exhaust.
Nobody has ID'd it yet.
Just a curiosity thing is all, and a matter of taste.
Apart from a strong motor, I am into a bag of worms with this one. 3 different bikes so far Z1B, KZ1000 and GPZ1100 all rolled together. Found part numbers on some parts and tracked down model
It is going to be fun
Cheers
