I'm not a fan either, yet, they fit my long arms pretty well. We'll see how I feel after a ride or two. The previous owner had fabricated them himself and they do look a bit janky, but they will do for now.

Get yourself some Deoxit, & clean all your electrical connections , after 40 yrs. there are probably some oxidized connections, & plugs,
use a small wire brush on the bad ones, do one at a time, & all the plugs in the headlight bucket, turn signals, tail light ETC.
You'll get better electrical conductivity thru out your whole wiring system, It's cheap & easy to do

WIll do Pete. I already purchased a Deoxit-like product which is safe on plastics. I cannot lie, the idea of this tasks seems daunting, but going through one by one should lower that feeling. Thanks for the tip.
