Clean the carbs, points, and all electrical contacts. Used a touch of starter fluid and she LIVES.

First time she has run since 1993.

Could not run her to long as the fuel tee's are leaking but at least I know she runs!

Welcome from West Central Indiana! Great save on the bike. I have a 75Z1 also, would like to restore but pretty sad shape.

This is what I started with. Still a few tiny things to do.

My bike hadn't ran since 92 until last year and the fuel T's leaked when I got her started.

I bought new ones to put in but after a little while the old ones stopped leaking and have held up fine for over 7000 miles.
I figure don't fix what ain't broke so I left them in.

My guess is that they dried out over the years and shrunk a bit and the fresh fuel must have swelled them back up again.

Your bike is looking really nice Peter. B)

I had a very similar experience. I drained all fuel from carbs and removed tank to bring bike into basement over the winter to replace steering stem bearings and some other stuff. When Spring came I took bike outside and started it and the fuel "T" leaked quite a lot. The next day when I checked - zero leakage; I guess something swelled up and sealed the leak. That was 5 years / 8,000 miles ago and it has not leaked a single drop since. Ed
