Thanks for the welcome fellas.

It's a 1982 750 with the I4. I have no idea what trim it is save for that as it doesn't say on the paperwork or bike. It's pretty beat and will definitely take some work to get it ridable. But what can you expect from a $100 bike?

So far the issues I'm dealing with are:
-It was definitely laid down on the left side. The clutch lever sticks now. The lever itself is fine. The housing is what got messed up.
-The previous owner misplaced the key. I'm not to worried about a scam since I've known him since junior high. I'm storing it in his barn as I don't really have a place to put it in the meantime.
-The transmission won't shift into anything but first or neutral. I'm hoping that it's just an issue of needing to get the fluid warmed up and moving.
-Does this thing ever need tires. The back is just garden variety worn but the front is dry rotted badly.
-It doesn't have an airbox at all. I picked up some cheap conical air filters off ebay and am hoping they do the trick.

That's what I know of so far. Other than that, it's just ugly and beat up.

That's a Kawasaki safety feature so the bike won't shift up until it's rolling forward.

Good Fortune! :)

Oooh. Sweet deal. Now if anybody knows where the previous owner set the key then I'll be set!

Btw, is there always a text entry spam filter or does it go away after a certain post count?

Thanks guys.

Does anyone know what other years and models share the same clutch lever housing? My guess would be that they'd be the same being as Kawasaki made a bazillion KZs but that's just a guess.

Another issue that I forgot to mention is that the rear brake lever sticks. It only releases a little bit when pushed down. It does pull up so I'm hoping that it just needs some cleaning and use to be freed up.

Lots of good info on kawasaki.com, including parts diagrams, part names, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc. Here's a link for help with navigating the site and finding information.

Just what I was looking for. I kind of had a bad feeling about this after I got done fiddling around with it earlier today but that has changed.

Thanks
