Saying hello From Michigan :-)
17 Mar 2012 06:52
Hey all. My name is Will and I was pointed here by Rob (rstnick)from the other KZ forum I belong to. Nice to have multiple sources for info, yes?
I have a '77 KZ650 that I picked up last fall from the original owner. He parked it in 1988 and never found the time to get back on. She has 12k on the clock and runs great. I had to clean the carbs and put new rubber on her but that's all it took. Of course since then I've done a few changes of my own but that's how these things go.
My user name is Renthorin which breaks into two parts - Ren + Thorin. In another language it means "lone wolf". Some break it out into Rent + horin but that makes me feel like a prostitute for rent money...ha! I live in Dexter Michigan, a few miles west of Ann Arbor.
Here is the bike (MERP) sitting in one of the local parks:
caninesportsrec.com/Merp2.jpg
Looking to meet other KZ riders in the mid/se Michigan area.

Just the average boy next door. I enjoy: SCUBA, drag racing, car shows, dog shows, dog agility, dog sledding, camping (tent), hiking, target shooting (gun/crossbow), landscaping/gardening, and finally getting back into motorcycles.

Welcome Will. I grew up in Michigan. The Ann Arbor was one of my favorite areas to ride. Perfect motorcycle area. Love the small towns like Manchester, Clinton, Saline, etc. Use to ride as far east has Irish Hills and Hillsdale by myself or with my girlfriend at the time. Have lunch, check out the town and surrounding country roads before heading back to Taylor. Never made it to Dexter.

Hello to old friends (Rob/Ed) and to all the new ones
Dexter isn't very exciting but does have some nice windy roads along the Huron River. You have to share them with runners and bicyclists but it's 35mph so plenty of time to take aim.
