New From Texas

Hey guys my name is Shane and im a Texas boy. I do use the word yall alot so I hope everyone is ok with that. :P

I do not have a KZ yet but I plan on buying one VERY soon, well as soon as I can find one that runs and rides for under 1k. So not really sure how long that will take.

I have always loved the KZ bikes and have ALWAYS dreamed of owning a slamed, streched, and turboed KZ. I remember being on the hwy running 120mph (i was young) and seeing a single round headlight coming up on me hard from the right. By the time I got my head turned around to see him he was beside me.

I didnt know anything about KZ's but it was a solid high gloss black bike that was slamed, streched, and turboed. It had a cromed out motor and swing arm and the rider wearing all black to match the bike. He shook his head at me and we took off. I didnt stand a chance and as I heard the turbo spool up he was gone as fast as he had shown up.

All I remember seeing on the bike was a KZ1000 on the side of the bike. I have needed this bike since then.

I have been off a bike for a long time and im just looking for a old beater to ride and work on slowly. B)
That MF'er is prolly so fast it would be like riding a big giant can of rape named bubba just outta prison set free in a girls college dorm.

Welcome to KZR! Whereabouts in Texas are you located? I'm just north of Houston in Spring.

As Martin suggested...parts for a KZ1000 are not an issue...welcome to KZR

Mmmm. I have been waiting for the right deal to come around on a 1200 ZRX for a while now. I'm on the same wavelength as Martin_CSR here. :)

I thought that too, but I have myself (and my wife) convinced that I should be getting a new Ninja 650R...

If you don't mind my asking, why the 650R instead of the ZRX? Newer? Warranty?

I'm buying it as a commuter(65 miles/day and it gets 49/50 mpg)...it is new (w/warranty) and is relatively easy on the eyes (tried to go Vulcan but (and I know I'll offend some KZR members) but I couldn't buy a bike I find just plain butt-ugly). I already have a garage full of used bikes...most of which I don't want to 'use-up' commuting...I'll have no trouble doing that to the 650R. I'd like to have a ZRX, but I know myself...I'd park it in the garage, most of the time.

Dang, didn't mean to hijack this thread.

Welcome Shane. I grew up in Austin and have loved Texas ever since!
My first bike was an 883 sportster, and I thought all I'd ever own would be a Harley. My older brother talked me into getting my KZ, and I can't thank him enough now. I only got to ride it for 3 weeks before I had to tear it apart. This thing is awesome!!!
You found the right spot, I hoe you find the right bike soon.
