Finally Picked her Up! was created by bekz
I was supposed to get my bike last year, but do to events I didn't get to pick her up till this June! So I've been lurking for a year. :P

Anyways she's a 81 440 LTD (as if you can't tell hehe.) She's been parked for over a decade. I got her running already. Rebuilt the carbs and she needs chain, sprockets, some wiring (very minor stuff) and seals and she should be road worthy! I can't wait to get her on the road!

She's my first bike and will be my first time as a rider and not passenger (legally hehe.)

Welcome to KZR! Looks like a little cleaning, and a new seat cover will result is a very solid little KZ. Do take the MSF Rider's safety course when you can. It's worth the effort, you'll learn a lot.

You might also check out this website: www.kz400.com/
Lots of good info on the KZ400/KZ440 available there.

Not a bad bike all in all Bekz... My first bike was a LTD 440 as well... Never got it on the road, seeing as I was to young for the legal crap but I did have fun ripping it around the neighborhood.
I'm actually looking around for another one of 'em for my ol' lady.
Keepin' the solo seat on my ride so she's gotta get something. :)

Thanks guys. Thanks for the link.. I had lost that site (computer meltdown..lol) so nice to have it again. I might have a seat for it and if not well, I do have a sewing machine.

I can see why you want one for your wife! This bike just fits me perfect. Most bikes are just way too big for me. I'm already madly in love with my kaw.. hehe

Will have to load the pictures of my garage later. :P

Thanks Ks and congrats on your bike also! I'm still waiting on one little part but I am close to being able to put her all back together! A few days of work and she should be good to go! I can't wait.

Congrats that should be a really fun bike. I just got my first bike too and luckily it runs fairly well and I really haven't had to do much to it yet. I think a 440 would be alot of fun. Do they sit alot lower than the 750 LTD's?

Sorry Mike but I have no reference for how low a 750 is. I do know that mine is as low as shadows or rebels, if that helps at all. I'm only 5'4 and I can touch flat footed on mine. :) I swear they built this bike for tiny women.

I will let you guys know first ride. I am just chewing my nails off waiting for this stupid part. It's still not in! ARGGGGGGGG

Well I've been out for a few rides but all of them were in a parking lot.. LOL

As you can see. And yes I'm riding without my helmet while in the parking lot...

Tonight I actually hit roadway. Was my first time taking her beyond 1st gear. She's a beautiful bike.. the driver ..well she has some operator errors going on....:P I got her up to 60km so I was happy with that. I have a few minor injuries from low speed stupidity ... nothing unusual.. I love my bike! I am still waiting for parts just different ones now.. I'm waitin for new (old) carbs that are comming but I can still ride her in the meantime!
