Use your factory frame and use a universal hardtail kit. I have built two now and have had great luck with the TC Brothers kit. It is cheap and uses the right parts. This is my latest build. 1996 KZ1000p. Rides great and gets lots of looks around town, and some weird looks as you scream past sport bikes at times. :^)
