New Member from Northern California

Hello everyone!

I am the new daddy of a slightly modified KZ650SR. I pick it up on Sunday. I also have a 2000 Honda Shadow Sabre in the garage.

This 650 is going to be my weekend rider/commuter/cafe project bike. I had a cafe 1975 Honda CB550F for a long time and have regretted selling it from the moment it left my garage.

I decided to join here because I was doing an internet search and came across 2 great threads and a parts link that have already helped me get this bike started. So, thank you all for putting me on the right path before the bike is even in my garage.

I'm sure I will have plenty of questions so thank you in advance for being patient with me.

I will post some pics after this weekend.

OK. Pics. There are so many strange things on this bike I don't even know where to start.

First the bike.

Now...

No starter motor or cover (Also the caps for the carbs are not right):

Oil Cooler:

Gauges - Oil Pressure on the right and what looks like air shock adjuster on the left:

Riding home in the rain... priceless:

I found some pics online of my old CB550 I thought I would throw them out there. These pictures were posted in an article for motorcycle.com. This guy bought it from the guy I sold it too.

I need to find the guy who made that seat for me. We took the stock seat (that was torn and nasty), cut it down, used new foam and did the seat as a cafe style 2-up.

I really like how you did that bike...really tasteful and no over the top, useless, over building...but...watch out:laugh:  Honda's get cracked on around here almost as much as Harley's!
