hello from florida

hello everyone. this is my first time registering on a kz forum. today i was givin a 79 kz1000 in parts. i also recieved a title and a old tag and registration. i know nothing about these bikes at all. the owner said it was the old police bikes.
i hope i can find out what i need to from here. i was going to put it all back together, or maybe sell as parts. since everything is there exept for a tail light, i think ill put it back together. here are some pics of what i recieved.

Uh oh, that's more of a project than my bike! I don't think it was a police bike though. Looks like late 70's LTD to me. Somebody on here can probably identify specifics just from pics you've posted so far.

Welcome KZ1K...looks like a 1977/1978/1979 KZ1000A/B model with a mix and match of parts. Why don't you post the frame and motor VIN's and we'll figure out what you really have...or you can attempt it yourself on www.zedder.com

whatever it is, it is 100% better than the one I bought in 07 and spent 2 years putting back together.Mine is up and running and I love it dearly.Restore it ,man.Everyone we save is another living legend that wont end up in a boneyard somewhere.bj

where would i look for the frame and motors vin? i know the frame has been sandblasted and painted so i dont know if it will be on that. but ill look where you tell me. also the motor seems pretty origional so where should i look for that vin?
