The frame is from a 1978 KZ 1000 A2 . Good list of frame & engine number ranges are found at www.zedder.com . Click on bike info. & it's all sorted by year & cc.

Nice score, 79 MKll stock exhausts are very rare & should bring many X what you paid for the whole bike!

thanks.... hopefully tomorrow i can get my truck back from the shop and pick this bike up. i'm not comfortable leaving it in the yard. when i get it home, i'll wash it and really check it out well. whatever the previous owner did, i like. the bike will look really nice when finished. i'm trying to figure out what that tank and tail-fairing are from. it looks like the original paint scheme but can't find another yellow Z1 anywhere.
