fear not, still have the carbs. I actually cleaned one of the out last night, too. (the garage still stinks like tarnish :pinch: ... man that was nasty) I ran out of carb cleaner after the first one!!! Now if I can jst get all that damned paint off I'll be good to go.
As for the manual, I've always hated Haynes. I have a clymers manual for the CB750 project and have found that lacking as well. Not as lacking as the Haynes (Step one: Remove top end. Step two: split crack case. Your engine is now dissasembled...) I'm stopping by the local Kawi dealer tomorrow, I'll see what they have/reccomend.

Welcome aboard, KB02.
You might also check Repair Manual.com as they have some original and some models in reprint. I haven't done business with them as I just found them in a Web search some time back. It looks like they might have your 550 LTD manual .

Okay, I just got the carbs cleaned out (a half assed job and a can and half of carb cleaner later) and was getti8ng ready to put the back on the bike and found that I dd not have an 82, as I though, I have an 1980 KZ550C1. Is there any value to these first prudction year models? The engine number is KZ550-002388 and the engine number is KZ550AE004389. Anyone have any infomation on this?
I only ask since I plan to do some radicul (sp?) mods to this bike, but if it is worth significanly more restored, then I will do that instead.
