Hello,i have been riding motorcycles for 38 years.The last 20 of those years on the street.I had my first accident back in sept.of 09.I am sure you have heard this before,driver makes left turn in front of motorcycle rider goes down.I found this site while recovering from my injurys.I am slowly putting my 1979kz1000ltd back in riding condition,will be back on the rode soon.

Welcome LT1...unfortunate about the accident but glad you and the scooter are recovering...I went to HS in Sepulveda...used to love the Valley...but that was a lifetime ago

Welcome to the site. I have in-laws near you in Ellijay, Ga. Pretty country around there, I am near Nashville, Tn. I too ride a 79' LTD. What parts do you need to put it back together? Good luck, Tom

I live in Quartz Hill, but work in Northridge.
SoCal riders get together once in a while when the weather's nice. Hope we can meet up next time.

Hello from Florida and welcome to KZR

Glad to hear you and the old girl are recovering well. I broadsided a dumptruck making a left hand turn in the mid 80's. Totaled my 900 but that didnt stop me from riding. I am a lot more cautious because of it and I am sure you will too. Get a parts list together, there are some great guys here that love the old Kaws and will help at the drop of a hat.

Thank you for all your support.I have replaced the front master cylinder,right switch,tach.tach bracket,headlight shell &rim,center meter cover.The kerker is dented pretty good but will work for now.The tank has a big dent but it does not leak,i plan on replacing it with a z1 tank.
