Hello, my name is Sean, and I am from Michigan. I have had an interest in 2 wheeled vehicles all of my life. My fathers first road bike was a kawasaki kz 900. Ever since then until he passed away I was around motorcycles. I road dirt bikes, and have since ridden bmx bikes since I was 14 years old. I have road raced cars in the past, and I am now looking to build something that is quick with some character and history. I figured what better way to honor my father, than to build the same bike that he once loved and road. I am currently searching for a basket bike in my local area, and hope to find one soon. I just figured I would introduce myself, and this place looks like just the place I need to learn, and share with my future project, witch will be a mid 70's kawasaki kz 900....

I am also into shooting photos.

Thanks for looking guys!
^^ My current ride.

Welcome Sean...I wish you luck in your quest...sometimes big bore fours are difficult to locate...other times folks are tripping over them. Nice photo of the lake:) ...oh crap, you removed it...

Yah sorry it took me a second to figure out how to post pics on here. Thanks...It will definitely be a big bore 4. I will not settle for anything else, otherwise honestly if it's not fast, it's not worth it to me. I plan on taking a couple years, do a full motor build, but also make is relatively rad roddish...Something that reflects me and what I am into.

Welcome to the forum! Good on you for picking a great way to honor your father. I wish you luck in your quest.

There is also a Z-1/KZ900 specific online worldwide community. Things are a bit rocky right now because we just shifted over from MSN Groups to Multiply, but its a great bunch of people with a lot of technical expertise on the 900's. You should join up!

Sean

Welcome aboard! I like that "high five of the United States" I am from Michigan as well (north eastern lower) - never thought of Michigan as a High Five! It may not be economically right now - but it always has been one great place to live!

I cant help you much on a big bore KZ - I have very recently started my KZ570 project.

Best of luck on your project.

Getting back to the street after lots of time in the dirt. Current street projects 1980 KZ750G, 2 1978 Honda CX500s. Other bikes in the garage: 05 KTM 250EXC, 03 KTM 200MXC, 99 Kaw KDX200, 76 Penton Cross Country 250

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Our economy is horrible, I have thought about moving north towards the traverse city area. I figured if I couldn't find what I wanted, I was going to get another dirt bike to mess with, but I really would like a road going street machine. Specifically a ktm is what I would get...but yah, I am starting the hunt now, Nothing yet locally, but I hope something will pop up in the spring.
