Hey Guys,

I am new to this forum and to the KZ Family(soon). I was wondering to get a bit of informaiton on a '81 KZ750LTDH2. I am thinking of buying this bike this weekened but wanted to find out how reliable/part support wise there is out there. I tried a rough search and couldn't come up with much. I am buying it as another project bike, as my first one only took me a month to finish, so need another one for the winter. So any information/thoughts on this bike would be awesome. Hopefully will be joining this forum by this weekened with a real KZ.

Thanks,
Collin

Welcome!
They made a ton of these bikes. Aftermarket stuff is readily available. Some internal OEM stuff is VERY expensive from the dealer!!! eBAY is your friend. There are plenty of parts bikes around too.

Now is all of the KZ 750 parts pretty interchangable? or does the LTDH2 not make a difference in finding the parts? or if anyone knows of a site with Specifications for this model, that would be awesome.

try:

zedder.com/msg1.htm

I have an '80 LTD and pull parts of an '82 LTD with no problems so far. Haven't tried comparing LTDs with other KZ 750s, there are differences though. There are guys here who can tell you every nut and bolt on every model.
Buy a factory manual off eBay. This will save a ton of headaches.

Welcome aboard. As far as I know many engine parts and some chassis parts are interchangeable from your bike. I started with a 77 650B and bought a 80 750H and used the swingarm, rear wheel and brakes, engine, exhaust, and front forks in the making of the blue bike below.

Good luck getting you bike and post some pics when you get a chance.

Good to know DanOz....The bike looks awesome by the way, was very impressed with the tear down. I am planning on doing a similar project with this bike when I get it in two days. I will post some pics once I get it, but just have to drive across two states to get this old 81' saturday morning. How hard has it been to find parts for your old bikes w/o using the part bikes??? It just seems there isn't many online resources for OEM parts.

Thanks,
Collin

Welcome to KZR Collin.

Have a look in the Links section. There are some online resources for OEM parts listed there.

Give us some pics when you get back with your ride. B)

Hey...wait a second. Why are we letting this guy on the site? I was under the impression that we only allowed one member per name on the site. We've only got one wireman, wiredgeorge, snakebyte, one twowheeledterrror and one rstnick. We already have one Colin and that is me. So I say off with his head!...or at least his cylinder head:)
Seriouslyl Collin (with the double L) welcome to the site. It's packed with info and helpful advice from fellow kz faithful from around the world.
