What did the USA get in those model years if not the 1100R?

KZE, what part of Canada you in?

The KZ1100R I saw last year was at Haugen's BBQ Chicken Restaurant's bike night, thursday, in Manchester, ON. That's North of Whitby, or East of Toronto.

Nothing. We got the GPz1100 in '83 and '84, but - to my knowledge - they were the same around the world (flowing bodywork, monoshock, frame-mounted fairing). We had no "J" model in '83 and no "R" model in '84. For us, the ELR was an '82/'83 only production and that made it the '1000'; the GPz1100 that had the same body style as the ELR was an '81/'82 only production for us. Canada got the "J3" in '83 and the "R" which went 1100.

Not to hi-jack your thread or anything, but as soon as the wife and I moved to this town I took the Clone down to work real quick during a summer after noon and on the way back home I met a ZRX head-on. I sat up real big and gave an appreciative wave as I stared over and thought "Ew cool, a ZRX...nice."
I have no clue what he was thinking; he sat up real big and waved like 'WTF is that!' Live in a town of 45K people and we still haven't met...see the guy all the time and know exactly where he lives... ...sad, I know.:laugh:
