New KZ owner here..
05 Sep 2007 18:38
Hello all
My name is Chris and im about to become a new owner of an 81 GPz 550. Found this site linked on the CB forum im also a member on and figured i would come check it out. From what i have read thus far of the GPz it seems to be a hot rodded version of the KZ550. Is this correct?

About the only pic i have of the bike is one i took of my Honda interceptors and it happened to be parked between them..The reason the small fairing off of the GPz is on the yellow interceptor is because i was toying with an idea. but either way heres a pic of the other two bikes that share the pad with it. sadly all you can see is the tank and tail piece of the bike for the moment.
Once i get some batteries i will try to get a pic of it.

Heres some better pics of the GPz. Took them a few min ago and lightened them up so they were not so dark..
As you can see its a lil rough...i do have both side covers...but they are off for the repairs to the wiring..well i should say attempt at repairs my roomate made before pretty much giving up on the bike. Main goals is to get the wiring sorted out...something i may actually see about tackling while the Honda beside it is in the shop...havent decided on that yet.

I could not view the pics? GPZ550s are
great bikes.I liked them even better
than the KZ650s.

Heres the links for everyone who cant see the pics in this thread. It appears i have a bit of a wiring mess to contend with...from what i see it appears my roomate didnt realise the bike had a single all in one regulator/rectifier unit and in trying to repair it wound up just having a rectifier..will get a better look at it soon enough..
