If you have a good sence of balance and arent an friggin idiot on the road,I'd say go for the 900. A 76 900 was my first street bike. I'm still in one piece.

the neon was the second fastest car dodge made in 95' only behind the viper. i had all the factory training on them back then, they really are a good car, if you can get all the oil leaks fixed

Take the local motorcycle course. In Illinois they're just about everywhere. A friend of mine teaches it, and you'll learn a lot from it, and it's free. They also supply the bikes. And they're NOT KZ1000s. They're little bikes. Light and nimble. If you buy this KZ1000, and have never been on a bike before, light it up and make the mistake of twisting it all the way open, you'll probably end up never wanting to get on another bike as long as you live. I don't want to discourage you from buying the 1000. I want to encourage you to sponge up every bit of knowledge you can about riding safely. Any motorcycle can get you into serious trouble in a hurry, but these KZ's are particularly good at it.
