I have been thinking of some ways to change my turnsignals on my 650.

Has anybody tried using flush mount signals in the rear, I was thinking about putting them on the metal brace where the stock signals are.

Here is the link, tell me what you think of the idea.

Any opinions are welcome. Thanks

1.) It's your bike, so if it's what you want, give it a go.
2.) At that price, I'd go to a local dealer and give him your business.
A. Because if you have a problem, you have a building to go to, and not a 'no return policy' on-line (invisible) store.
B. You might start a relationship with your local guy and it might pay-off down the road if you decide on more than turn indicators.

Take some pics and put 'em up; see what results you get. ;)

Thanks for your opinion, It helps when you see them on the bike. I believe that i may just put on an integrated taillight since i am thinking about removing the rear fender.

I was going to go with the integrated turn signal/tail light on my ZX6E tail light conversion, but I've changed my mind.
With the integrator, when the brake light is on, the signal wont flash.
I'll be going with some smaller than stock turn signals.

The ZX6E tail light:

Like the monoshock set up?

I have a Reese integrator on my 400, and the turn signals flash when the brake it on.

Really?
Reading through the thread about integrators, it was mentioned that the turn signal stops flashing when the brake is on.

Did you wire up the Reese integrator on your 400 like the wiring diagram in that post?

I see you mentioned "No, with it, I have four rear-facing lights. The outer two are running/turn/brake (on the trailer kit), and the inner two are wired to the stock running/brake. I love the way it works..."

You have 4 lights? Got a pic of that?

In the pic below, the two center lights are the ones wired to the stock tail/brake, so ignore them for the purpose of this discussion. (By the way, I only run the two center lights to stock wiring because I didn't 100% trust the Reese kit.)

The outer two lights are wires to the Reese kit, so that would make them behave exactly like a standard dual-bulb under-tail light set. In fact, they end up behaving exactly like you would want trailer lights to behave with a dual-filament setup. With them, when I hit the brake, they both light up. When the running lights are on, they are running lights. When I turn on the turn signal, they blink. The turn signal will over-ride the brake light if both are in effect, so if one side is blinking, the other side is either a running light or a brake light.

I hope that makes sense...

On a side note, I the reason I did this is because even though most of you guys like to have *fewer* lights on your bikes, I actually wanted *more* braking visibility, with reasonable turn indicators, without having as many lights as a Gold Wing. This was my way of handling that compromise. And I don't care as much about the look as I suppose I should...

Part of the reason I switched my mind on using an integrator and going with turn signals is the visability angle. I want people behind me to see the signal clearly.
Years ago all 4 of my signals were running lights as well, to be seen well.
