I just purchased one of these bikes and in the process of getting it road worthy. I'm pretty sure they come stock with no center stand, am wondering of there is a way to add one to one of these bikes?

Might be possible to install one from a 750LTD twin, though you would need to weld mounting tabs to the frame.

I'm pretty sure that the 76-79 KZ750B's were the only 750 twins with centerstands.

Sometimes bikes delivered without centerstands retain the same centerstand tabs used on similar models delivered with centerstands.

An example is the 1976 KZ900 LTD that came without a centerstand, but has the same frame as 1976 KZ900 standard model, including the "unused" centerstand mounting tabs.

 By chance, does the bike at hand already have centerstand mounting tabs?

Good Fortune! :)

Strange my 83 has a center stand.

I'd have to check out this 80 frame later today. Seems to be the CRS models that got raped for a center stand... price you paid for getting the spoked 19/16 rims I guess... chuckle

Linky no worky :)

I should have remembered that the 83 I looked at in Little Rock a couple weeks ago was sitting on the center stand

Do you suppose they brought the center stand back in 83 due to popular demand?

Neither of my 80 750G models have a place for a center stand, and neither did the 82 750M that I sold. So it looks like 76-79 and 83 models are the only ones with center stands.

1981 & 82 KZ650 CSRs had center stands, for what that is worth, but I don't know about your 750 twin. I would think the frame is the same, but I am guessing about that as well.

Nope. The KZ750-CSR is a Twin & has a different frame. In fact nothing much on that bike is any use to the 650-CSR. Even the wheels are different - they're 40 spoke. The 750-Twin frame might be more similar to a KZ1000s - it seems like I read that somewhere, perhaps posted by steell.

I have a 1982 kz750m twin and I see on Ebay that there is a 750 ltd centerstand for sale. It looks like I have the 2 center tabs on the bottom of the bike. Do you think that the stand will fit?

Thank you

Doug

Eddy,
Please let me know if you find a solution to the centerstand problem as I have the same bike and would like to find an answer.

Thank you,

Doug

If not already done, could visit kawasaki.com and compare the part numbers of the respective center stands.

Good Fortune!:)
