I say KZ.

I think Z1 refers to the '73, '74, and '75 bikes. A reference: www.z-power.co.uk/merchantmanager/view_information.php?pId=21

Your engine should have a different number (Z1E-xxxxxxx)

I'm real curious about the engine and frame numbers matching...that would be odd (but not unprecedented).

How's that! your only a couple of hundred from mine!(Z900-A4)
My frame/engine numbers are less than 500 apart, but they tell me it should be more like 10,000 apart! Never have worked this out, however I do know of an original Z900 that is around 10,000 apart.
