You are there I am not and I get that you have a new system for your machine. I would attempt to run some tests to see if the old system can be used as a spare. Thats just me, what do I know?

Yes you need to remove it as the Dyna S does not need a ignitor box. There are Dyna 3 wire diagrams out there if you need a wiring guide.

As previously mentioned if working correctly save to reuse or sell.

That is pretty funny the way your describing it, I am running a used Dyna 3 in my newest build. They are no different than OEM Kawasaki electronic ignitions.

Can you still get them?

Yes! Google "dyna iii electronic ignition" and images come up on the "sponsored" column or under "shopping"

They are more expensive than a Dyna S

I am running the Dyna III since 1997 with no probs.
Just only did a tach signal mod to the board and pick-up to get bouncing free rev readings...,

Personally I would trust a "old" made in the USA Dyna product over there newer stuff.
The new Dyna stuff is probably made in China even thought there parts have rarely failed me in the past.
Only once did I burn out a signal modual and it was my fault leaving a hot ignition switch live on a drag bike.

My 77' KZ 1000 LTD is still running the Dyna my uncle installed back when it was almost new. If yours still works why get rid of it?
