Hello!

Could someone share some pictures of the main harness routing on the J-models? Im assembling my bike after tear down and realize that I took too few pictures of it all (and im not sure it was correct before either).

One of the reasons im unsure is that I got quite alot of extra wiring all the way back.
More specific questions; 1: The alternator and starter wires, do they go above the back motor mount? 2: Is the cables going to the back/brake light and turn lights routed right of the air cleaner?

Here is some pictures (a bit dark), please comment!

thanks alot!

On my build I just went with what felt right, I wasn't that worried about factory correct as I've changed so many things it was pointless to worry about it.
If your going for factory correct study all the pictures for clues and info in the factory manual. You can pretty much find all you need to know in the picture back grounds regardless of the picture main topic.

Fair enough, the pictures tell quite much but some of the routing is difficult to see. I will give it a go,

thanks!

Following. I recently bought a 1981 CRS 1000. I pulled the main harness thinking it was routed wrong. All my other big fours route the main harness along the steering stem into the back of the triples then into the back of the headlight bucket, the CRS had the main under the side frame tube where the tank is held, then down under the lower triple up behind the brake splitter logo cover, up parallel to the upper fork stantion, then up into the headlight bucket. Based on my big fours I thought it was wrong and pulled it all out. Oops, from other photos I’ve seen it was correct. Because I thought it was wrong I didn’t photo document the route. Id like to find the correct route also.
