I am having no luck finding a petcock for my KZ400 [1976] - I have a picture of it on my website HELP!

Indeed, this particular petcock has been the subject of many explatives and an equal amount of replacement searches... ;)

I have never seen one like that before. It looks like it is part of the tank. Dosen't screw on or bolt on? Looks like you can onlu buy the rebuild kit and the bottom nut is pretty stripped. Is it a stock KZ tank?

What happens to them? I think mine is the vacuum type, is that right? What fails on your particular type? It leaks? Won't turn? What all uses that type?

well ya cant go wrong with a good dual outlet pingle,or a 3/4"ballvalve when all else fails!:whistle: :P

Looks like it mounts the same as the old Honda petcocks.
Get the bowl off and there should be a screen.
Pull the screen out and there should be two screws under it.

How did it get so chewed up?

ball-valve handle and thin walled pvc inlets on carbs,brings a tear to a plumbers eye!:blush: :P

I like that ball valve and the PVC carb boots! Gets me thinking- how bout soldering up some copper handlebars and grabrails?? Wouldn't look any dumber than some of OCC's "theme" bikes...
