6010 for penetration, 7018 for cover pass. the forst 2 numbers are tinsel strenght, the third number is the position, and im not sure what the last number is. but you wont need to know that. JUST DO IT!

6010 is for welding rusty fence posts! weld it with 7018 and be done with it.or just get a mig welder
check local welding shops for tubing to use,lot cheaper that way.
for welding stainless i like 308-16,works better with a dc machine though.
check with z-torch,he'll know best rod for you to use. B)

6010 is used for a route pass. 7018 is for a cover pass over the 6010.

a route pass is thr first most important pass. the cover pass is just a lets make it look pretty pass.

i have used these rods fo years welding 2.5" up to 24" pipe.

yes, 7018 will be all you need for this application.

those frames were mig welded from the factory, pretty hard to make them look much worse than some of those factory welds!

The link was to tig welding or oxy/acetelyne rod. You would only use that if you have a tig welder or are planning to use a gas welding rig. What welding process were you planning to use?
