Is my bike a 1980 or 1981? KZ750H LTD

I picked up what I believe to be a 81 KZ750 Ltd a few years ago as a project. There was no title or registration with the bike. I'm trying to obtain a titile/registration now but I'm unsure if the bike is actually a 1981 or 1980.  The vin is KZ750H-016075 and the build date is 8/80.  I assumed it was a 81 based on the build date but apparently Kawasaki switched to 17 digit vin numbers starting in 1981. So do I have a late production 1980, or is it a early 1981?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

From the info at CycleChaos.com it's an 81 model.  Just an FYI. the 17-digit vins weren't used everywhere when first introduced.  I don't know when that form became universal.  I think the USA made the move to standardize the 17-digit vins, then the rest of the world eventually followed suit.  The long vin was used for vehicles sold in the USA, but depending upon the mfg the shorter vins were used everywhere else for a while.
