I just plopped all the junk on here to see how she looks.... I'm very happy. Still a lot of work to do..... and here in Western Mass...... we have a really short finding season!!!!! All ready behind the 8 ball!!!!so much more to do ......... last time I rode was '13...... and had to stop, my right had went dead, numb..... cold then hurt really bad..... so I parked the monster..........

she is as fast as I need to go! I don't ride like a mental case anymore........
1075cc 10.25:1 pistons, cam motion street cams, Dyna ignition, RS34 carbs, old Kerker Header with the competition baffle...has a big giant hole down the middle. its actually now anywhere near as loud as one might think....don't get me wrong its far from quiet!not as loud as most Harleys or the bumble bee sport bikes running around. always had an oil light problem under hard acceleration, years ago I installed the oil pan trapdoor, no more oil light problems. well worth it. simple installation too. I ported the head also, just a simple street clean port job. matched the bigger intake flanges, cleaned up all casting junk and sharp edges. made a big difference.

I know that feeling of old projects! I have a 17 yr. old one going and sitting around.
Been doing other peoples stuff! Family, Houses, 3 Surgeries! Restored my old Harley FLH. Can't make money off of Myself! Ha Ha!
But not to critique? What do you think about the small flared rear metal fender incorporated?
I myself, love them and they are part of the Z1-KZ tradition. That's my opinion. Even a small section like the old school, pro-stock drag bikes back in the day. I cut up pieces to extend one forward to take up room for my 3" extended swing arm. One of a kind. I never seen one like this.
But welcome back. I recall, I was an original member from the beginning of KZR

Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!

I just lengthened a spare arm I had. Then braced it too. Was a lot of work. I have pics of the process posted. Put in different pivot bearings too. They are wider. Have yet to get the bike down the road . Still working stuff.

Had to take a break from the bike. Been too busy at my shop. Today I relocated the oil cooler and mounted the steering damper. Ready for a shake down now!!!! See how she rides/ handles with all the mods and see how the carb jetting is.......... had a few beers....... so I'll wait till tomorrow...
