Z1RII restoration was created by mick
It took 3 years to find all parts and bits to restore this wreck to a top Z1RII.
This is the starting basis.

So it's going on.
Frame, swing arm, fork legs and other parts are powder coated.
I changed the powder coated fork legs to polished ones.
Checked out the damper cylinder, changed seals, dust caps, and oil.

Also the coated Z900 yoks to new genuine lower und top Z1R yokes.
Mounted new RH and LH head light brackets and guides.

Mounted a rebuilded and new painted master cylinder and brakle fluid reservoir.

Now the bike is on the right legs. Feets and shoes are coming soon.

IT's a 1980 D3. I'm located in Cologne Germany.
This Z1RII came from the USA to Germany in 1989.
Yes i think i have ALL bits and parts to complete the bike.
I have collected the parts for this bike for 3 years. Because this Z1RII has never been sold here in Germany. So i have to collect the parts from the whole world.
I bought it as you see it at the first photo at this posting,no more other parts.
I have also a 1979 Z1R D1,and my Z2 Z750 was BOM in DEC 2006 here on KZ Rider.

germany cool.so i thought that the 1979 z1r's were maroon and that they we're the z1rII's.
i have a 1980 z1r that is black and i have a 1978 that say's kz1000 z1r and it was the same color as the one in your picture.

Good looking bike,i love the extended swing arms.

The D2 was maron, and there were only approx 300 sold in the USA

Does anyone have photos of the arrangement of the electrical equipment under the side covers? For a D3 or D2?
