Am I crazy? was created by donthekawguy
Due to not being able to afford a 79-80 kz1000A or MK11, next summer I am thinking about trying to find a frame and go from there. I think the hardest things to find will be the frame and motor. Of course this will turn into a YEARS long project. Am I crazy? I had an A2 years ago that was stolen and wrecked. I still miss that bike and the last MK11 I saw on ebay went for 6K. Am I crazy for thinking about this?

No, not crazy...but MKII motors are getting pretty thin too....why don't you broaden your 'acceptable' bikes to include 1981/2 J models or perhaps 1981/2 GPz1100 bikes converted to carbs?:)

The 81 gpz1100 is on my list also. I just miss my 1000 and after seeing Tony's bike this summer I want another. In the past 7 or 8 years I have seen only one for sale that hasn't been on ebay. It was really ratty but was only $1500. I was broke at the time so had to pass on it. :( as for the 81 82 J's, there is something about them that I don't like. I almost picked one up in 2001 but passed because it seemed to be a weak attempt at the 73-78 kz's. Maybe it's just me but I like what I like I guess. :P
