'80 KZ 1000 A4

Well, here is MY project. This is a 1980 Kz1000 A4 that I bought just over a year ago, for $400.00. Unfortunately, the seller skipped out with the title!(it was a new shop that just opeed & he told me the title was "sent for"-I've never seen him again) I got the title back in December, and promptly got to work. I took it to a local GURU w/ these bikes, and he's been working really hard on it for me! He cleaned the carbs and fired it up- we could hear the cam chain rattling a little, so he tore into it and found the tensioners all jacked up. Somehow, he found me a parts bike that is 204 before mine on the VIN! And- the odometer reads 1,700 miles! Anyway, All the tesioners were good in that motor, though it was locked up(#3). I've recently bought a Kerker on e-bay, and I still need Tires, chain, progressive shocks, steel lines, I'll post more pics with assembly. Thanks kzrider! I couldn't do it without y'all!!

Hmmm...an A4 for US$400?!?!? Despite that it was a non-runner, non-titled bike, you got a deal! For that price, I would have found room in my garage and wedged it in:)

No doubt! I love the MkII. One of the few that does, and maybe it's because my first street bike was a MkII that I still have....

I like the paint, but I'd carry the stripes across the whol tank and tail.

I had one about 10 years ago that I got from the original owner. I loved that bike until some d-bag stole it wrecked it. I have been looking for one ever since with no luck. If you get sick of it you know where to send it.

Today, we took a good sleeve out of the motor from my parts bike, and put it in the one we're building. Just waiting on the Gasket kit to assemble the motor! I am SO ready to hear it with this Kerker I bought! Here's another "mock-up" pic..
