ok i got a good running 78 b ltd. its kinda ratty and dirty. well i needed a new rear tire. so i got a new tire and decided to do some powder since i had it off. ill post pics as soon as i get parts back in a few days. im going with a flat black base look. the rear wheel was purple but i had that the hub, rear sprocket center chain guard all done in prismatic black. someone on here had a frame done recently in the pretty much same color its black but in the sun its got lots of other colors that will pop out at ya. sorry i cant remember who it was but im sure someone will remeber. gona do more this winter but i decided to save some time and do what i can now. heres a link to a possible color combo. let me know what ya think.

It could be just the lighting in the pic or the reflective media in the powdercoating, but I see shades of purple in it.
While I'm not to keen on the color purple, that actually looks really nice! B)

What else are you planning on powdercoating like that?

There are probably other KZr members out there that have done it, but the only other KZr member that I recall powdercoating anything with reflective media in it is Mark Wing.
He did his frame like that, but it has a silver/nickel(?) base color. And when the sun hits it, it's pretty awesome looking!

yes it appears gloss black straight on looking at it but when the light hits it it has shades of purple and green that come to life. i did the hub rib chain guard and rear brake disk. im gona do the same to the front with possibilities of some of the covers ( clutch, stator cover, valve cover, center stand, side stand,)

lots of possibilities. ill post more pics later hopefully with better luck on bringing out the sparkles. thanks rocket

ok heres a full bike shot to see how its shaping up. took the purple kz script off the side covers since sooner or later they are gone. chain guard should be on tomarrow and hopefully a new tail as well. couldnt get the sparkle out of the rim since the sun was low. any ideas for the seat. i love the gunfighter but wanna lose the purple. would a leather marking pen work? or just spend the cash to have it redone??

Call me silly, but if that purple is similar to the KAWASAKI tank lettering then it looks outstanding to me. B) Way more stylish than black. But again, its my 2 cents worth and you bike. Either way, nice machine.

Have a great riding season.

very true bill. the more i look at it the more the purple sticks out to me. the kz on the side covers was too much either way so i may stick with the current scheme ( sorry bt) the tank tail and side covers do need body work and repainted so hopefully i can replicate the purple kawasaki lettering.
