Welcome!  There are a few Canucks here.  Where are you located?  I live near Kamloops.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Location - Timmins Ontario, Canada - Bio - Driving a bike since I was in 8th grade. Retired Mechanical Eng Tech, industrial millright, worked for a public utility for over 30 years.Built and raced stock cars in the 90's.Then became a Porsche enthusiast, have restored a couple old Porsche's in the last 20 years. (Frame off rotisserie restorations) Sold them.  -  Last year bought a 1974 Kawasaki H1E 500 (Covid winter project) and did a frame up restoration. Loved working on it. Drove for a bit last summer and was offered an amount I couldn't turn down so I sold it. Pictures to follow.  A month after it was gone I got the itch to restore another old Kawasaki. Searched Kijiji and found a 1981 KZ440 in need of me.   Bought it and here I am.

I lived in Timmins from 1993 to 2004, minus a 2 yr stint in Sudbury.  I worked for Falconbridge.  I used to run around Porcupine Lake every day.  I'm retirednow...am a mechanical engineer who spent his career in mining.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Interesting. I grew up in Timmins (biked around Porcupine Lake many times), moved to Sudbury for work, then Kap and North Bay and finally moved back to Timmins to work and retire. Now that my daughters have moved back here after University, my wife and I will probably stay here for good.

Yes, kids have to go away to attend university.  My two (one is still in university) never returned.  My ex is still there.  We lived in S Porcupine, behind the shopping mall.  I moved out to BC when I left and would never return, no offence meant by that.  But I remember running around the lake at -39C!  Winters are too cold and long for me now.  Kamloops is much nicer!

Now let's see a photo or two of your bike!

As an avid skier and a Canadian Ski Patrol, I love the winters, even the -40's. First photos are of the bike I did last winter. A 1974 Kawasaki H1E 500 Triple.

The H1 looks impressive.  I'm sure you will do a good job on the 440.  I'm currently working on a 650.

Welcome from your southern neighbor. I see why you picked the Kz440. It carries heavy influences from the H1.
