Hey!
Im new to motorcycles never owned one...my uncle owned a couple kz's his last was a 76 kz 900 with a 1000 motor that was decently built by redline out here in IL....
Well i wanted it but he sold it to one of his buddys a couple years ago and now im looking for a kz of my own. I pretty much have my heart set on a 76 kz 900 as my first bike but im not to sure if thats what i should jump on.
I found a 75 kz 400 that needs a voltage regulator has ran since last year, the guy wants $250 but i dunno seems really small im a 260pnd guy thats 6'1 lol

Its something about a kz that cant compare to a new bike maybe its the sound of it i dunno

Welcome!

Maybe you could try looking for a 650.
I got one as my first bike last fall and its been a great fit for me. I'm around 6'3" and 215lbs.
It's got plenty of power and I don;t feel cramped on it.

I love for the classic styling and the amazing sound that it makes!!:woohoo:

I'd have to agree. I picked up a 650 as my first bike. I'm 6'5" 205 lbs and have found my 650 to have plenty of useable power. I'm not too cramped either.

if i jumped on a 900 would that be too dangerous as a beginner bike?
if its not enough then i dont have to buy another bike in a few years just build a 1100 motor or 1000 like my uncle did....

I think of the kz's like old muscle cars...in sound compared to like import cars lol...nothing like new sports cars but older things more appreciated
lol

For Gods Sake man .. your name is Fast95Nelson .. you can't be rocking a KZ400 with a name like that!! B)

That being said .. besides being wicked fast, 900s are big bikes and brake like freight trains. You may want to get your feet wet on something a bit smaller, but I am not one to stand in the way of another brothers dream ... just ride safe man! Take a begginers course with your local Motor Vehicles Agency.

1975 Z1 900, 1075 wiesco kit, web cams, smooth bores, dyna ignition, denco pipe, lester mags, wicked bad rotors, custom gauge face plates .. not much stock left.

I think my mind mentally blocked my comprehension of the words fast and neon so close together and it saw what it wanted to see. ;)lol

Well if you haven't iced yourself in a 400hp neon .. id say your chances are pretty good with the 900 as your not inexperienced with fast transportation! ;) I love mine and it hasn't even made it out of my parking lot under its own power. Looks cool just sitting there with tools lying around it.
