The parts diagrams do indeed show that you have to pull the axle out. my bad. I was thinking it was a 650SR. doh. I still prefer pulling the assy, though. ha ha.

If the bolt is closer to the top of the muffler, a wratchet strap over the seat can compress the shocks enough to get the axle out.

Then install the axle the other way 'round
