As that Ive never had any before, I was wondering what would be the best hard bags for my 78 1000. Im thinking of a new town car and my grand son says it would be cool to take my extra back fenders and make them into lids for the boxes B) Im sure its been done before as all things are doable as of such.

I have vintage 1975 Amco hard bags. The others seemed ugly to me. If I didn't have them I'd go with some of the stock ones from later Kaw or Yam's. The Vetter boxes are stupid as far as I'm concerned and the Honda ones that opened in half even more so. The KZP boxes are nice and can be made better looking but they're small compared with the ones I have now.

Vintage shoei bags look pretty good on the KZ900. I think wiredgeorge had a set on his. I did a quick search on eebbaayy, but there isn't much available right now. Bates is another brand from back in the day. The shoei bags are universal fit & have sliding/adjustable mounting brackets.

I know both bags. What made the Shoei look so bad to me was the Honda turn signal lenses. On any including mine they can be changed to modern ones and look much better. B)
