Does anyone have any experience with what front fenders might fit my 80 KZ750E ...with minor mods? I got the bike pretty reasonable and it is my first bike (mid-life crisis). I am painting the tank and side panels and want to get rid of the chrome front fender. I can always use the one on there in a pinch, but the goal is to re-do beforehand parts I have been able to obtain and refurbish so all of the change can be done at once, minimizing the down time.

I have been scouring various sites but not sure if one off of a KZ twin would work and if so what years.

Any thoughts, suggestions, experience (good or bad) will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

PS
Also looking for on KZ750 badge for the side on the cheap...going to attempt some painting on those as well.

The 81-82 750E models came w painted fenders, so you could get one of those. They came in Red, Blue & Silver. Not sure if any 80 Es had a painted fender. A 750 Spectre part might fit. I just linked a couple real quick without checking for anything better. There are more on eebbaayy.

He has "twin" in the title but that is an error.

Thanks... I might just take a chance on a 750B. Holes appear similar.

I am a scrounger by nature and plan on sharing pix & info as I get deeper into the project

I prefer direct bolt-on whenever possible, hence the suggestions. That Twin fender may work, but I would get some measurements first: bolt-hole center-to-center & fender width where it attaches.

I brain cramped the fender width....good call.

I have been looking at the 750B front fenders (lil bit more plentiful) and it appears the holes are the same on some. Might just ebay an inexpensive one, check for fit and if it does, paint it. If not will put it up for sale and if I lose some money I can chalk it up to the cost of learning ;) .

Another reason direct fit is preferable --- fewer wasted parts to get stuck with.
Crummy junk parts don't easily sell. I have learned my lesson.

I had my chrome fender sandblasted and painted to match. It was rusty and in crappy shape. It was an 80 1000 LTD. Nice to use the original fender.
