Hi all,

I want to straighten out the lines of the rear end of the frame to get the cafe/brat/racer look on my KZ750. See attached picture.

I'll take you through my plans below, do you guys have any warnings/ideas before I start?

1. Ill cut the frame and replace it with a steel pipe (orange with red outer line)
2. To make that work I have to lower the rear shock absorber mount 1 inch. I want to do that to cut out 1 inch in the red circle.
3. By doing this the rear shock mount will move down and forward (but also outwards a couple of mm.) To counter the latter I want to put a washer on the lower rear shock mount and change to 12,5 instead of 13.5 inch shocks. Will all these movements affect handling in a negative way?
4. I will level out the top of the bracket where the shock absorber mount is mounted to make it flat so I can weld the straight pipe on it.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

In he pic, the shock mount is already below the proposed frame rail. Why do you want to lower it?
