Hey all,

I've been using the site regularly for the past couple of years but have yet to post. You're all great! I've learned so much about my bike just by searching the forums!

Anyways I'm looking for rearsets for my bike. It is a 1976 KZ900 A4. I found a few posts about making them but considering the linkages required I'd rather just buy a set.

So far I've only found the sets on Fast from the Past. Anyone have experience with these? The price is a little steep.

What do you recommend? I could make a plate if a set includes all of the linkages, but I'd rather just buy a full set.

Does anyone have a pair they're looking to get rid of?

And when I install these, can I chop off the triangles that hold the passenger pegs? The right hand side mounts the brake pivot and exhaust hanger, has anyone hung a Kirker system off the frame without those passenger pegs? Do the rearsets have a new pivot for the brake?

Rearset Rear set sets

Thanks!

There are actually quite a few manufacturers but the ones sold by Fast from the Past (Paola Tarozzi's) are about the least expensive.

I've had a set of the Tarozzi's on my 1000 for 15 years. You still need the brake pedal mount as they utilize it for their linkage setup. You could always cut the triangle on the right side just past that point if you want. Is there a reason you want to cut off the triangles?

Thanks for the info!

The pair I'm looking at is here, it says its for Z1A, so I think that'll fit my 900?

Now I'm wondering if they will clear the exhaust can. I'm using kirker 4-into-1s.

I'm considering chopping the passenger triangles because the bike is pretty naked, and I don't see a use for that part of the frame. The seat is big enough for me, When I squeeze the girlfriend on it gets a little tight. If I do chop the triangles, I'm thinking a clamping system for passenger pegs if I want them in the future.

Normally I would mock everything up before doing any cutting, but I took the engine out to do a rebuild and I'm thinking qwhile I'm at it, I should get everything figured out with the frame and powdercoat it. This means any chopping and grinding have to get done before hand.

From memory, the A4 has a drum brake in the rear, same as the Z1's, so they will.

I have a Vance & Hines 4-1 and have no clearance issues.

The triangles are for the pegs and mount but also for the center stand stop on the left side. I see no reason to cut them off. I was concerned about them getting in the way of my new beefier swing arm. They won't in fact they will provide a starting point for my shock mount placement.
