Both 530 and 630 are the same width.

5 & 6 signifies PITCH, or the distance between pins. 5/8" or 6/8"

30 (both chains) is the width of the roller. 3/8" wide.

Depending on the specific chain the outside width can vary a little. The more heavy duty chains will have thicker plates for example. You can not assume anything in this regard though so you have to get specific data from the chain manufacturer. At the end of the day though the difference in overall width won't vary a whole lot. You will have to move to a 520 chain if you really need something thinner. Of course you will need the matching sprockets too so budget accordingly.

A stock chain used on a stock swing arm will not come in contact with a stock shock. What bike is this on, and what have you already done to modify it? Got pics? Ed

I noticed that. I wonder what else he may have done. Different swing arm or spacing of the wheel or sprockets so the chain wouldn't rub the wheel?

I may be wrong but to me it looks like the 530 is wider than a 630

Tell us more about your bike! Is that a big block cylinder or are my eyes deceiving me? Emgo pods?

Regarding the "pin length" I'm not sure what more to add that wasn't mentioned in my previous post about chains. By definition both 530 and 630 chains have the same roller width. Overall chain width depends on other factors though including side plate thickness.

I just swapped to a 530, but mine was a heavy duty one and is a pretty wide chain with the stout sideplates and the x rings etc. in the chain, it's probably wider than many 630's. A none O ring chain will be narrower, on my 73 Triumph Tiger you cannot run an O ring chain on the stock set up for this reason, they weren't designed with enough room, for an O ring chain. My 530 chain is a JT chain, one of there Z1R series 10,582lbs of tensile strength, from their website it shows their 520 Z1R chain being suitable for just about any engine power and capacity, so you could drop to a 520, which would have to be appreciably narrower, but still has a 9.480 tensile strength. They also have a 525 at 10.582lbs tensile too, same as the 530.

What is the rear rim? A 17" looks great! I don't see any weld seams, Not a double weld! Fits the cycle great. Looks OEM.
What is your offset? Have to have some? 3/8" 5/8"
I goofed in 1990 I had a stock 18" Kaw mag that was made into a double weld using a D.I.D. wheel. The infamous "Puppet" of RaceVisions built it.
Pup built the jig, then sold it to Paul Gast from FBG racing.
I sold it at Norwalk, OH. at an I.D.B.A. drag meet. I did get $200 bucks for it though.
Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!
