Hello everyone, I have an 82 750csr and I just put some superbike bars on it, I love them they are so much more comfortable than the stockers. I got everything from the old bars (with the exception of the blinkers) to fit on the new bars, except the throttle and clutch cables are too long. I found a shorter clutch cable, but i am unable to locate a shorter throttle cable. Z1 doesn't even list a throttle cable available for my model, so unlike the clutch I dont have a recommendation for a shorter throttle cable. The stock part number from Kawi is 54012-1103. I was able to locate that, but I just can't find a shorter one. It seems that they all have an adjustment down by the carbs, but I have BS34's and there is only a little cable holder down there, the adjustment is at the handlebars.

Any ideas which cable I should use?

thanks
Eric

I called Z1 and they assisted me with finding the right throttle cable.

For future reference. If you put 29" wide superbike bars on a 1982 KZ 750 CSR Twin As I measured you need a 42" cable. I ordered this from Z1 Enterprises part #MP03-0066

Motion Pro

They make any cable you would like and not much more money than buying stockers.

I just found one that would work for 25.00 shipped. not a bad price in my book. And I can just order it and they ship it quickly, I dont have to wait for it to be made.

Good for you. Custom cables usually take about a day or two to make. Also a lot of the time you can simply find one that already matches closely to just do as you did and simply order it. GLWB

I had already considered the custom cable route if I couldn't find one that I thought I could make work. I also thought about buying the stuff and modifying the one that I already have since it's only about 6 or 8 months old. But I have one on order now and a spare if that one breaks. :)
thanks for the info though I appreciate it.
