77' KZ1000A like to upgrade to dual front disks. Besides additional caliper, would I be able to use little later disk brakes that are slotted from i.e.. 79' LTD 1000? I like the look of slotted brakes but don't the disk diameter of the LTD's or bolt pattern? Any advice would be greatly appreciated !!!

Plummen, Looks like they would. So I'm assuming the overall width of the disc and the overall height where it bolts to the wheel hub is the same? Now do I need another front wheel hub? Also, still want to use the front brake switch splitter, can I reuse mine and run 2 separate brake lines of the bottom to each caliper?

I bet you could find a KZP with dual fronts pretty cheap. Check out the parting out thread.

I'm not sure on the bolt pattern or the diameter of the disc's to keep everything in line with my 77'? It appears from the pictures the the brakes have a wide bolt pattern with the mag wheels and that wouldn't work.

It would have to be a 76-80,sometime after 1980 they switched rotors and other parts. :)

The police bikes also have beefier forks and a wider front axle, trees etc.
After 81 or so, IIRC, but I never look up police bike parts to be honest

I'll just probably use a couple of cross drilled rotors of the LTD or something similar. Know Master Cylinder choice. Not sure there ???

Anything with a 5/8" bore should be good for dual disc setup, can get a new one on ebay for the cost of a rebuild kit typically

So that means I can my stock 5/8" bore single disc master cylinder off my 77' KZ1000A ? I thought going to dual discs up front you would need a smaller bore Master Cylinder ???
