So I'm doing a mono shock conversion on my 77 kz1000 a1 . I lucked out and got a free 97 gsxr1100 from a co-workers husband. I was just wondering if you guys can help me out. The pivot bolt on the gsxr is obviously larger and longer than the kz and I was wondering to do? I was thinking about using the gsxr pivot bolt and cutting it to size and machining a tube that matches the inner diameter of the gsxr pivot bolt and the diameter of the kz pivot bolt. Or is there somewhere I can find a new bearing that will fit?

Also what other things should I consider when doing the swap?

most use the z pivot bolt and do a flanged bushing on each side........

as turboking said.
i have custom machined tophat bushings to take up the difference on the swaps i have done.
these are on a zx6r swingarm to kz.

the chain line is one other thing to consider.
a stem swap will convert the triples so you can mount the gsxr front end with the factory kz hardware.
