Ok, first off, I cant get photos up of what im trying to do quite yet. I have a master cylinder from a zx-6 for the fronts on my 900. The cylinder didn't come with a reservoir, and the thieves wanted $60 for the jug...not gonna happen. so I got a good friend to turn a reservoir for me, and I now need a rubber hose to connect the two. the offset required so that everything clears the mirror is too tight to do without preforming the tube. Any ideas?

You need an old fashioned tubing bender. Mine here is 50 years old.
The tube is 1/8 car brake line which works with the bikes. Flex spring lets you bend the tubing.
But if you make your own, YOU HAVE TO DOUBLE FLARE the tube ends.

sorry, I forgot to include the word "rubber" in the original thread title. The tube I need will just be connecting the reservoir to the master cylinder. I just dont know if I can boil a rubber tube or something to make it hold a shape. I thought about bending a copper line and then sliding the rubber tube over it, but that wont get it quite as tight as I would like. If my replacement phone shows up tomorrow I will post photos

Would a wire coil (spring) On the outside allow you to make the bend without kinking?

Could try filling the hose with sand, then carefully using a heat gun.

Good Fortune! :)

have never tried it but I have heard you can take your tubing pack it full of flour plugged on each end
working slowly heat it (heat it bend it. hold til it cools repeat the process being careful not to overheat it until it holds the shape then trim to size (thoroughly clean when finished)
OVERHEATING WILL FOREVER INBED THE FLOWER or other compactable fine powder
Theory is the flour will keep th ID uniform and not kink it.

Okay...so I finally have a phone! So to recap...my attempts to bend rudder tubing all ended with burnt fingers, and total failures. Further research has yeilded that once rubber is vulcanized, it can NEVER be un-vulcanized.

I did find success with some vinyl tubing, hopefully it will put up with brake fluid(initial testing went well). So, if anyone happens to find this, while Googling your Particular problem, consider reinforced vinyl tubing for your needs, it seems to resist mild chemicals, and forms well with heat.
